How to divide the housework in a shared house
No one likes being the one who nags. A shared list makes the nagging unnecessary.
In a shared house the problem is rarely willingness. It's that no one knows what the others have done, and whoever sees the mess first becomes the one who has to say something.
Write down the invisible work
Toilet paper. Dish soap. Emptying the dishwasher. It's rarely the big clean that causes friction. It's the small things one person always ends up with.
Rotation beats goodwill
Fixed chores that take turns need no negotiation. Whoever has the week, has the week.
Let the list be the referee
When it says who did what and when, the argument stops being about who remembers wrong.
